Assinala Paulo Gorjão no Bloguitica Nacional a entrevista exclusiva de Xanana Gusmão à "blogosfera", no Timor Leste (01.10.03 - "entrada" 224).



Diz o Presidente de Timor-Leste, nomeadamente o seguinte:



"First year of independence was not enough to make a proper judgment about national development. Overall I can say that the environment of peace and harmony – except 4 December 2002 incident – allowed us to feel that things improved since 2000 and 2001; the return of more then 200 000 (two hundred thousand) Timorese from Indonesia was a great achievement. Initiatives to settle border issues another positive development. We may still need to focus on developing an action plan for the Nation. We need to respond to the expectations of the people. Nevertheless, we can be proud of our people for their patience, perseverance and humility which enabled us to cross the emergency period to the reconstruction periods without major problems. We should see this trait of our people as a national asset. There are difficulties in reconciliation area but this will be dealt with in the years ahead."
